Carrara White - Platinum Grey Honed Marble Hexagon Mosaic Tiles 48x48

A honed face is ground level and left unpolished. It holds a true edge on every hexagon, so the joints run straight and the honeycomb reads as drawn geometry. It also keeps both marbles at full value: Carrara's milky ground stays bright and the stormy veining in the Platinum pieces stays legible instead of being abraded back. Where the tumbled version reads soft and worn, this one reads precise, and that is the reason it usually lands in a contemporary bathroom rather than a period one.

There is a trade-off and it is worth stating plainly. A level marble face shows etching more readily than a broken one. Marble is calcium carbonate and reacts with acids, so a splash of lemon juice or a limescale product leaves a dulled mark that no sealer prevents, because the damage is chemical rather than a stain. On a bathroom floor or a shower wall this is a minor concern; behind a kitchen sink it is a real one.

Otherwise the stone is undemanding. Seal before grouting, clean with a neutral product, and keep abrasive pads away from the surface.
